Food health

This expression stems from the conviction that: (i) access to sufficient quantities of safe, nutritious food is essential to sustain life and promote good health, (ii) unsafe food containing bacteria, harmful substances, viruses, parasites or chemicals can cause over 200 different diseases, ranging from diarrhea to cancer, (iii) food safety, nutrition and food security are closely linked, and (iv) worldwide, almost one in ten people fall ill after eating contaminated food.
