Environmental health

The concept of environmental health is based on the determination that healthier environments could prevent almost a quarter of the global burden of disease. Thus, clean air, a stable climate, adequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene services, controlled use of chemicals, protection against radiation, healthy and safe workplaces, rational agricultural practices, healthy cities, living environments and habitats, and preserved nature are all prerequisites for good health.
